2024
Move into the new building
In August 2024, we moved into the new building, which allowed us to double our production capacity.
2023
New building
The construction of the new building gets under way. It will increase the production area to more than 2,000 m².

Laser technology
Further investments are made in laser technology, including a laser marking system and a laser cutting system in production.

Expansion of management team
The management team, led by Reto and Peter May, is expanded to include Christian Schürpf, Head of Production and Planning.

Acquisition of land
2,500 m² of industrial land on the adjacent plot is purchased to accommodate the future growth and expansion of SMTEC.

New technology
SMTEC invests in an X-ray system to enhance its testing capabilities.

Third expansion
The logistics, office and social areas are expanded with a further extension.

Handover at the helm
Peter May hands over the management of SMTEC to his son, Reto. Peter remains with SMTEC in finance and as a member of the management team.

SMTEC makeover
SMTEC gets a new image. The old logo is replaced with a new, more modern-looking one.
2016
Second expansion
Along with the office premises, the production area is extended for a second time. A fourth assembly line is installed in SMD manufacturing.

Flying Probe
The testing department is expanded and the flying probe testing method is introduced.

First expansion
Production is expanded with an extension, and the SMD production capacity is increased.

ISO 9001
First certification to the ISO 9001 standard by Swiss TS (now Swiss Safety Center AG)

SMTEC moves into the new building at Gewerbestrasse 5 in Kleinandelfingen, and the production facility is expanded.

Birth of SMTEC AG
SMTEC AG is founded by Peter May in Kleinandelfingen and commences production with two assembly machines.
