SMTEC has decided to pursue two additional ISO certifications alongside the existing ISO 9001:2015 certification and to initiate the process. The certification according to ISO 14001:2015 will already take place in May 2024. At the same time, the project to obtain ISO 13485:2016 certification has been started, with the goal of achieving this standard in the first quarter of 2025.

As part of this decision, the long-standing certification body has also been changed. Since this spring, the previous certification by Swiss Safety Center has been transferred to Bureau Veritas. The new certification processes will also be carried out by Bureau Veritas.

This expansion and the change of the certification body underline SMTEC’s commitment to the highest quality and environmental standards as well as to the compliance with strict regulatory requirements in the medical device industry.
